Biomass Genomics

Plant genomics is the study of the genetic factors that influence the development, structure, and composition of plants. The ARC Research Hub for Engineering Plants to Replace Fossil Carbon will use plant genomics approaches to increase understanding of plant genomics in order to target genes influencing the structure and synthesis of plant cell walls, particularly of crops such as sugarcane and sorghum. Discoveries made in projects in this theme, such as gene targets, will influence projects within other Hub Themes.
